You know, the GOP's (Republicans) want you to believe that they have the majority in this country. They also wanted you to believe back in the 2002 Elections that unless you voted for ALL GOP's that Bush couldn't get anything done as President.
Well, they are Right and Wrong. The GOP's are far from the Majority, they just have more Cash to get voters to the polls. (Dems do have more Registered Voters) They are Right because yes, Bush couldn't get too much done with the Democrats controlling the Senate, that is, not Done his own way, which is wrong.
The Democrat Controlled Senate did pass tons of bills. And before a Republican left the GOP Party because he no longer agreed with Bush and the GOPs and gave the Democrats Control of the Senate, Bush didn't do anything then either. This practice of holding up Judicial Nominees is not at all uncommon. The GOP's did the SAME thing to Clinton when he was in the White House, and we didn't cry about that. We did not want all Right-wing Judges in court of course, because like in the 2000 Election, they literally helped George W. into the White House.
Gore won the 2000 election for the White House. He received over half a million more votes in the popular voting, but however due to the lack of a recount, Gore lost Florida over around 500 votes, and lost the Electoral Votes there.
During the 2002 Elections almost all elections were too close to call, or the candidates won with only a few hundred or thousand votes to their name. So America is not all "Big Oil Loving", Tree Hating, Fake Christians. And to say the GOP is 'standard' as I was once told by an author, is simply NOT true. All around they country the Dems gained seats in states, we lost just a few in the House and Senate. Which with Bush crying WAR at every election, it is obvious that people are going to stick around him. He also did not get anything done for those weeks he was poking his soggy face up into camera's trying to get people to vote for his 'friends' who could care less about Normal American's.
Don't let them fool you. Liberal is not a bad thing, that's what the GOPs try to label us as, and make it sound bad, or nasty. IT ISN'T! They also want you to think that the Kennedy's and Clinton's are AWFUL people, and if you vote with them your a bad person. Once again, I guess you could say that if you are Rich, and Hate the Environment, and think anyone other than a Christian Caucasian should be sent to hell.
